The families of former captain Shahid Khan Afridi and Test fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi believe that the engagement between Shaheen Afridi and Shahid Khan Afridi's daughter may happen soon but confirmation has been avoided. In Peshawar, Shaheen Afridi cut the engagement cake with his elder brother Riaz Afridi and his club players.

The cake had Happy Engagement written on it and a picture of Shaheen Shah Afridi after taking the wicket. Sources said that the engagement has been finalized, a formal announcement is yet to be made by both the families but the celebrations are continuing.

It may be recalled that the father of national team fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has confirmed the news that he has asked for Shahid Afridi's daughter's relationship for his son.

Talking to a private TV channel, Shaheen Afridi's father Ayaz Khan said that he had sought a relationship for Shaheen Afridi's daughter of former national team captain Shahid Afridi, which was accepted by Shahid Afridi's family. Ayaz Khan further said that the engagement ceremony will be settled soon, we have a long relationship with Shahid Afridi's family. In his message on social media platform Twitter, Shahid Afridi wrote, "Shaheen's family contacted the family for my daughter's relationship.

The two families are currently in contact, the couple is formed in the heavens and if the will of God Almighty is involved, this couple will also be formed. My prayers are for Shaheen's continued success at the cricket ground and beyond.
